The third map pack for Call of Duty: World at War consists of four new maps including three play vs player maps and another Nazi Zombies level. The three new multiplayer maps are called Battery, Breach and Revolution.

Battery is set on a shore defence platform, which consist of a large area which is split up into small open areas with a large structure with trenches, an underground tunnel and an enclosed area, in the middle of the map. There are also two towers which connect the two open areas together and allow for a good sniping/flanking area to help the game keep flowing. The underground tunnel also connects with the two smaller areas allowing for easy flanking for camouflaged units but can cause a mass close combat fight if you and a few people go through but are detected.

Revolution is set in a refinery type area with a large building in the middle surrounded by smaller buildings around the edge of the map, most of which can provide viewing spots on the main building. The outer buildings are idea for close combat fighting and it's also a place where you can guard your team mates as they snipe.

Breach is set on a road with two rows of buildings on either side of the street and a bridge high above the middle of map. At either end of the street there are fountains. Whilst inside the buildings you will find that you are engaged in fierce dogfights - normally both sides use the doors for cover - but once you venture outside you will find that things change and its all about sniping and long range guns. Here you'll have to watch all of the windows if you're going to make it down the street in one piece.

The main attraction for the new map pack is the famous Nazi Zombies level, which now comes with yet another map as well new elements including gun upgrades and a new item to use (Monkey Bombs). Monkey Bombs are cute toy monkeys that bash a pair of cymbals together. When thrown these bombs attracted the zombies, giving you a little breathing space, before exploding and killing any zombies in close proximity.

The new map is set in a massive science laboratory with brains in jars and other weird things dotted about. In addition, picking up the science angle, there are several new scientific interactive elements - including teleporters which can teleport you to the mainframe where you start. However these teleporters need power, making them inaccessible at the start of the game. There are three teleporters on the map, all of which much be activated before any of them work. Once these are activated you gain access to another helpful piece of science, the “pack a punch” which upgrades your guns for a hefty price but it is defiantly worth it. This is also helpful for the later levels when the amount of zombies is just insane.

When you have upgraded your guns a lot changes to them. The look of them changes, most of them have symbols added to them and they all turn a dark grey purple. Also the muzzle flare changes to purple. The rate of fire on all of them is increased as well as the damage of the gun and the magazine is increased. Some of the guns have different effects such as the Colt 1911 which you start with, starts to shoot out explosive rounds and the M1A1 starts shooting rapid fire if you hold down the trigger.

For the majority of players the main highlight of the new maps will be the new Nazi Zombies, but the other maps are pretty good once you give them a chance. They always give variety in each game, whether its close combat or long range it always seems to divide them both up into a constant changing but flowing game.
