Glade Festival is an electronic dance music festival which originally started out as a stage at Glastonbury Festival. The annual festival takes place in England for three days in the summer and attracted around 16,500 people in 2007. The festival began in 2004 and its home for the first five years was the Wasing Estate, in Berkshire. Its new home is now near Winchester.

This album is a 70-minute continuous mix of 20 headline artists who performed at this year’s (2009) festival. You can expect to hear a wide range of styles in the dance mix, from techno, psytrance, drum and bass right through to ambient and minimal.

As a whole this one massive mix is okay. It has a diversity, which sits right with most fans of dance and electronica; there is something for everyone. I personally would have preferred a review copy of the album that goes with this, where the tracks are separate, that way I could hear the different mixes and compare the two.

Unfortunately, I can’t really comment on individual tracks as they all merge into one, what I can say though is that you are taken on a journey that at times is mellow and chilled; frantic and busy and dark and lustrous.

For all those who attended the festival and love their electronic dance music then this mix was made just for you and even if you’re not a huge heavy-duty fan of this genre, I would still give it a listen.
