Hailing from Toronto, Violca (one half of the Toronto duo, Mansion) is back after much success with the Mansion's remix of MSTRKRFT's 'Bounce' in 2008 and her first official single 'Gasaiada' in September this year (2009).

Having toured Canada and Europe, Violca has found herself sharing stages with acts such as The Bloody Beatroots, Diplo, Deadmau5, Guns and Bombs, DJ Sneak, Thunderheist, LA Riots and many more. Not shy of hard work she has managed all this whilst holding down two massive residencies at Toronto's top nightclubs.

Currently Violca is working on her debut album which is set for release in 2010 and will feature the vocals of ISIS, Montreal rapper Bless, Vitaminsforyou and Dolo. There is also to be an internationally renowned female vocalist set to appear on the album but they won't tell us who just yet.

In the meantime, as we sit and wait for the eagerly anticipated album, Violca's new single 'Empire' is released. This features remixes by The Disco Villains and Jad Cooper.

Not being a massive fan of House music I was surprised at how much I liked these two tracks (although we only received two tracks for review, the full release includes three tracks - the additional track is the Jad Cooper Remix).

'Empire' has an infectious pulsating rhythm which is mixed with techno and electro beats. I dare anyone to not be able to move to this track! It's a head nodding, tap footing and booty shaking beat.

The 'Disco Villain remix' reaches out to the darker sided audience. Still with its pulsating rhythm the melody reaches an all time high and I especially love the break at 3 mins, 50 secs - which goes into the melody alongside the falling electro sound. Fantastic.

These are two great tracks that will have everyone in the clubs jumping.
