Released in 1989, Sound Iration's In Dub spearheaded a new age in homegrown British Reggae, continuing a mission started by Nick Manasseh and Steve 'Scruff' Guilder which pioneered what became 'UK steppers'.

Some 20 years on and the album is to be re-released but this time it has some demo's and unreleased mixes for the first album which only ever appeared as one-off dub plates to play on the Manasseh Sound System.

Made up of two discs this album has a little something for all reggae fans. CD one is the shortest with the 8 original tracks and CD two housing 14 tracks, of which 7 were originally intended for the follow up.

On CD one, 'Iration Time', 'Revelation Dub', 'C.T.U.F.B', 'Free 1' and 'Dub Seal, Pt.3' all have a French vibe running throughout them. This mixed with the heavy, heady vibes of Reggae leads to an infusion of laid back European sounds.

'Satta Licht' comprises of a more futuristic reggae sound with its sonic sounds and electro feel to it. Sound Iration are not afraid to move the barriers on their reggae sounds which is what has made them successful today.

CD two has a very laid back approach in true reggae style and sees some unreleased mixes for the first disc.

'Ruff Song' has a great electric violin solo and really moves this song forward, it's graceful yet full of body and life.

Another one of my favourites is 'The Storm', this is a slow played out tune, one for chilling to and just taking time out to soak in the sounds.

This album is a must have for those who remember the original release, with never before released tracks and demo's then you will not be wasting your time or money and as for those who aren't old enough (like myself!) to remember the first release then this is is a definite to add to your reggae collection.
