For those of you who don't know Quasi, they are an indie rock band formed in 1993 in Portland, Oregon. The band consists of the ex-husband and wife team; Sam Coomes (vocals, guitar, Rocksichord and various keyboards) and Janet Weiss (vocals and drums). Joanna Bolme officially joined the duo in 2007 as the bassist.

'Bye Bye Blackbird' is Quasi's new single taken from their recent LP, American Gong, and is set to coincide with their UK and European tour.

Opening the track is the melodic chorus which makes way for the scratchy vocals of Coomes; which kick this song into life. It really has a good beat about it and is strangely quite a catchy little number for an indie rock song.

The single consists of the radio edit and the much longer album version which seems to go off on a bit of a tangent and then return to us with the familiar chorus.

This is to be released as a digital single which I feel is a shame as a hard copy is always nice for the collection.

All in all though this is a good single which I'm sure wont disappoint all the indie rock loving fans out there.
