Chief are Evan Koga, Mike Moonves and brothers Danny and Michael Fujikawa all of whom were born and raised in Los Angeles.

'Breaking Walls' is Chief's first single to be taken from their forthcoming debut LP. It has a melancholy feel to it, almost like saying goodbye to the end of the summer. The percussion plays a strong part in the song which is led by the Chief's unfaltering vocal harmonies.

Running alongside this single is 'Your Direction', which is slow and very west coast in sound. I started off liking this song but as time went on I felt so too did the drones and moans of Chief.

I'm of the opinion that there are enough moans and groans in the world without having to listen to slow, doddery music. Don't get me wrong, this band are truly talented at what they do but I wish they had moved it up a notch and seen past all the drudgery and moved onto a more enlightened state of play.
