Wii Game Review
Experts in meditation have created an innovative game concept inspired by the ancient system of chakras - the body's seven energy centres through which the life force flows - and challenges players to achieve a peaceful and focused "flow state." As they make their way through a visually stunning environment, players practice playful yoga-inspired activities, breathing exercises and meditation. Their journey is set to mood-enhancing music and infused with Deepak’s teachings and philosophies...
Deepak Chopra’s Leela, is an extraordinary journey into the self, blending ancient philosophies with the latest home-entertainment technology. Breaking the boundaries of what has ever been created for video-game systems, Leela is not a game. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that invokes whole-body movement with meditation and breathing techniques to relax, stretch and control both body and spirit. There is no traditional winning or losing in Leela, just as there really is no beginning and end - Leela moves at an individual’s pace, and its only aim is to instill an inner sense of harmony and accomplishment.
Those that feel that chakras are a load of old nonsense, will probably want to avoid this game, however those that are interested in meditation and discovering inner peace will no doubt get a blast from this offering. As someone who sits on the sense in these matter, I found it to be an entertaining and different gaming experience. There's no doubt that it's a calming and peaceful game, but how much you'll want to return to it depends on whether the idea of playing a game that sorts out your posture and focuses your mind is one that intrigues you or not.
Those looking for a "game" that's a little different will find this a relaxing and interesting addition to their collection.
