Why is Desmond Miles being help prisoner under high-security at a mysterious, experimental laboratory? What incredible secret is buried deep within his DNA and concealed by his genetic memory? Why are they delving into the past lives of Desmond's ancestors, all of whom belong to a sect of Assassins? Don't they know it's dangerous to reawaken the memory of an Assassin...? Desmond is the first volume in a three book series based in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed universe from the popular console game franchise. The story tells the tale of Desmond Miles's abduction by Abstergo Industries, a human technological development company - their plans to to rip the blood-steeped memories of his ancestors from his generic code. It's not essential that you've played the games, or even understand any of the history of the universe... however it will help greatly if you are familiar with the events in the game. The story is tight and the art work is much better than I was expecting. This isn't just a quick story knocked out to cash in on the launch of the latest game. If you're an Assassin's Creed fanatic, then you'll love this series. 7 Nick Smithson |
