With more than 18 different disciplines & challenges, Summer Stars covers a whole range of summer sports. Players can prove their talent in disciplines like Triple Jump, Mountain Biking, Diving or Sprinting and become a top athlete in the career mode. In multiplayer mode, they can compete directly with up to three friends or family members on split screen - delivering a gripping "just one more go" experience...

There are 18 summer events contained in this game: Sprint (100m, 200m, 400m); 110m Hurdles; Javelin; Hammer throw; High jump; Pole vault; Long jump; Triple jump; Swimming (100m freestyle / 100m butterfly); Diving; Archery (compound bow and recurve bow); trampoline; fencing; and mountain biking.

The main mode is Career in which you can take an unknown team and compete across various sports to win medals. There are only a couple of options but once you win a medal (gold, silver or bronze) in an event more are unlocked.

Other modes include Freeplay (quick games) and Missions where you have to achieve certain tasks in the main game.

Once you've mastered the controls for each event (which believe me is not that simple) it's purely a case of constantly playing and beating your own best score. There's a lot of fun to be had with events like archery and trampoline; while I found mountain biking a little more tricky to get to grips with. Overall though this is a great game.

For those looking for a fun sports game to add to their Wii collection, you could do a lot worse than Summer Stars 2012.
