A 70-mile-wide asteroid is en route to Earth, and the last best attempt to counter it has failed. Also failing is the marriage of soft-spoken insurance salesman Dodge; the news that the world will end in an estimated 21 days cues his wife Olivia to leave him on the spot. Dodge is a man who has always played by the rules of life, while his neighbour Penny is an extroverted woman who hasn’t. From these opposite perspectives, both initially choose to navigate the impending end of the world with blinders on. But eventually Dodge realizes that he must seek Olivia out before it’s too late while Penny makes the decision to spend her last days with family in England. Seizing the moment, Dodge promises to help Penny reach her family if she will provide transport for the two of them in her car immediately...

As I've mentioned a million times before, I'm not normally a fan of soundtrack releases which are compilations of soft pop tracks with the odd memorable or famous hit thrown in to drag in the customers. However, the soundtrack to Seeking a Friend for the End of the World contains a number of classic songs that are well worth adding to your collection if you don't already own them.

As an added bonus, and to whet your appetite enough to hook you into purchasing the movie's original score as well, we have two of Rob Simonsen and Jonathan Sadoff's tracks (which have been edited into one track here) 'Dodge Walks Home/The Beach'.

The tracks cover songs from the '60s, '80s, '90s and '00s and it's quite an interesting mix. The album lasts 45 min, 11 sec and contains 12 tracks.

While far from an essential purchase, this is a neat compilation album from some interesting songs spanning four different decades.
