No Middle Name is the dream pop solo project from David Bailey, better known as one half of The Title Sequence. 'Another Season' is No Middle Name's first official single.

'Another Season' is the perfect introduction to the soft, dreamy qualities of No Middle Name, which are heavily influenced by the sounds of Wild Nothing and Youth Lagoon. This single features the ethereal vocals of Lindsay West.

Yes, this is a summer song, and as I write this it looks like 2013 is going to finally be a bit of a scorcher. 'Another Season' is a dreamy pop song that would rattle around your head if there were a catchy chorus, but there isn't. That's not a complaint, just an observation. The song starts, seems to organically grow and then stops abruptly.

I think for me the only aspect that spoiled the song was the electronic "Pah! Pah! Pah!" voice that acted as the backdrop and which the main song was built around.

This single also includes 'Crofts Remix' of the same track. This is a little more stripped down and as a consequence it's a little more tuneful. It adds much to the original and dispenses with the "Pah! Pah! Pah!" element, replacing it with a more '80s sounding synth. Of the two I actually preferred the remix.

It's an interesting, if slightly odd, summer track. The only thing is, once the summer has gone it's very unlikely you'll dig this out and play it again.
