The Motown 7s Box
(Rare and Unreleased Vinyl)

Artists: various
Label: UMC
RRP: £49.99
Release Date: 25 November 2013

UMC's The Motown 7s Box is a collection of 14 rare and previously unreleased vinyl gems, with all tracks lovingly restored from the original Hitsville master tapes. The collection was compiled by original Wigan Casino DJ Richard Searling with an aim to capture the up tempo Northern Soul sounds, and the more delicate late '60s / early '70s crossover sound of Young America...

While all of these Motown tracks have all been released on CD, for collector's there's nothing like listening to the songs the way they would have been originally intended.

We reviewed MP3 files for review, and so can't comment on the packaging and extras. But if you still own a record player then this is an essential purchase.

What more is there to say? 14 glorious forgotten tracks from some of Motown's greatest names...
