MovieScore Media and Kronos Records release the original soundtrack for the Swiss comedy Recycling Lily. Directed by Pierre Monnard, the film tells the story of rubbish inspector Hansjörg whose mundane life is only lightened up by the woman he loves, Lily. When our hero finds out that Lily’s daughter placed bags of trash on an illegal site, he uses the discovery to court his beloved (while also issuing a fine). What he doesn’t realize is that Lily is actually a dangerous hoarder and her daughter only wanted to help her in disposing the garbage...

Philipp Schweidler and Moritz Schneider's score for Recycling Lily is an interesting blend of Nino Rota-inspired orchestral scoring, Morricone influences and John Williams-style themes.

The score kicks off on the right note with William White's 'Nobody's Perfect', which is a fun, catchy track.

The main theme that is housed in 'Recycling Lily' and repeated throughout the score, reminded me of the opening to Clive Dunn's 1970 song 'Grandad'. It's a light-hearted, theme that sets the tone of the score. The most notable version is 'Fat and Lonely' which illustrates how the same theme can be transformed into something of beauty by simply slowing it down a little and using the piano as the main instrument.

Other beautiful tracks include 'Almost Kissed'; 'Emma Falling'; 'Australia'; 'Carrying Mom'; and 'The End'.

The album contains 21 tracks and has a running time of approximately 42 mins. There are enough beautiful themes to make this worth adding to your collection.
