Disruptive Pattern Material

Artist: Peter Oakden
Label: Fifty Fathoms Deep
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 03 March 2014

Paul Oakden's Disruptive Pattern Material is an interesting release into the dance genre. The tracks have a natural flow and order, the vibe is chilled out and peaceful, the sort of album that's easy to unwind to.

The album contains 10 tracks (52 min) and it's impressive to hear how diverse the songs are. From the unsettling sounds of 'Heart Strings' to the soothing vibe of 'I'm Still', this is an album that is a heartfelt and personal exploration. Oakden dips a toe in the past, paying homage to sounds that have come before, and another in the future, bringing us some new and interesting sounds.

This is the sort of album you'll enjoy chilling to on a lazy summer's evening, or as background music as you're getting ready for a night out clubbing.
