Silva Screen Records release composer Harry Escott’s sublime score to Michael Winterbottom’s rich and poetic film based on the mystery of Meredith Kercher’s murder. The Face of an Angel is a film about making a film about the murder of an English student in Italy, as well as the intrusion and distortion of the media...

Harry Escott delivers a beautiful score for The Face of an Angel. The music straddles the fine line between score and classical music. It contains 24 tracks (58 min, 45 sec) and incorporates numerous memorable themes, including the hauntingly beautiful 'It Makes Me Sick; 'A Spirit Worthier Than I'; the short and very sweet 'Return to Italy'; 'Full of Atmosphere'; the piano based 'Up and Down'; the heartbreakingly beautiful 'Un Bel Casino' and 'Fellinia'.

The only slight complaint I had was that this is another one of these scores which incorporates dialogue from the movie. It might only be on a couple of tracks, but for me the entire reason for purchasing an original score is that it is your chance to hear the music without dialogue drowning it out.

There are a few tracks not written by Escott ('Un'Altro Tiro' by Fratelli Quintale; 'Cortesie' by Frankie hi-nrg mc; and 'Mi Fido Di Te' by Lorenzo Jovanotti Cherubini all of which are Italian pop music tracks).

It loses a point for the inclusion of dialogue from the film, but otherwise this is a beautiful score that is definitely worth adding to your collection.
