We are Still Here
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Composer: Wojciech Golczewski
Label: ScreamWorks Records
Release Date: 07 July 2015

ScreamWorks Records release Wojciech Golczewski’s chilling industrial ambience score for We Are Still Here, directed by Ted Geoghegan. The movie takes place in the cold, wintry fields of New England where an isolated house wakes up every thirty years to demand a sacrifice. Its current victims are Paul and Anne, a couple who moves to their new home following the tragic death of their son who was killed in a car crash. The grieving couple becomes the target of vengeful spirits who prove to be dangerous tenants, holding the key to the dark secrets of the seemingly peaceful town. Instead of starting the healing process, Paul and Anne must fight back the ghosts who not only want them, but their lost son as well...

Wojciech Golczewski’s delivers a run-of-the-mill industrial ambience soundtrack. So it won't come as any surprise to learn that these 10 tracks (31 min, 26 sec) hold no memorable theme or segments of music that you'll want to listen to for entertainment.

The score was never designed to be listened to in isolation, so I'm not really sure why it has been released as a standalone project, or who would want to listen to it. It might be useful as the background music at a Halloween themed party, but otherwise I wouldn't want to listen to this.

It's another one of those scores that I'm torn between appreciating and hating. I understand that the composer has no doubt done an exceptional job of adding atmosphere for the movie, but on its own it doesn't feel right.
