Theodore Shapiro's score for Trumbo is released through Lakeshore Records. The successful career of 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. The movie tells the story of his fight against the U.S. government and studio bosses in a war over words and freedom, which entangled everyone in Hollywood from Hedda Hopper and John Wayne to Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger...

Beautifully subtle and, in places, bordering on modern classical music, Theodore Shapiro's score for Trumbo contains 28 tracks (47 min, 26 sec). As well as Shapiro's score, we also get 'Willie the Cool Cat' performed by Big Jay McNeely and Billie Holiday singing 'Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do'.

Shapiro delivers a number of modern jazz-based tracks giving the album a film noir feel. This mixing of jazz and classical based themes works incredibly well and throws the net wide for the score's potential audience.

It contains numerous interesting, intricate themes and this is certainly an album that you'll get many hours of listening pleasure from.
