Fugitive Apes have taken to the skies in search of revenge after humans have destroyed the planet. Command their stolen zeppelin and save nature from man… one bomb at a time...!

Review imageApestorm: Full Bananas is a side-scrolling bombing game that owes much to some of the classic arcade games of the '80s. The setting is interesting, with three apes who may just have kick-started the entire The Planet of the Apes rebellion against mankind. Set in a steampunk universe, you must take controls of the apes zeppelin and bomb every man made structure in the environment as well as freeing any of the other apes that they are holding captive.

You can adjust your craft's height and speed as well as drop bombs on your unsuspecting targets. As you progress through each level you'll unlock bananas for completing certain quests. Earn enough bananas and you can unlock another level.

The game is simple to get to grips with and the level of difficulty is nicely ramped up as you progress through the levels.

Review imageIf I had one slight complaint, it's that the voice acting was a little amateurish and in the early stages more than a little distracting. However, as the voices of all three apes was provided by one man (who also happens to have been instrumental in various elements of the game's construction) it could have been a lot worse - plus there's plenty of different vocal exchanges between the crew and it does a good job of not repeating itself too much.

For fans of side scrolling shooters Apestorm: Full Bananas should provide an interesting challenge.
