Massive is a four-piece Australian Rock outfit that formed in 2012. Their new album, Destination Somewhere is an AOR / Hard Rock offering that takes no prisoners.

Massive reminded me a lot of the bands I used to listen to as a teenager in the late '80s. I could feel the spirit of FM, Bad English and many other acts of the time. This is nowhere more evident than on the track 'Made of Stone'. There's even a sprinkling of the work of Jimmy Barnes that permeates this release (especially his earlier work with Cold Chisel). This is probably not a huge surprise as Barnes, while not overly well known over here in the UK, is practically a living legend on the Rock scene in Australia.

The album contains 10 songs (40 min, 40 sec) and kicks off with the hard edged 'One for the Road' - a track you can imagine being the band's final encore song at their gigs.

The album closes on the rather out of place (but none the more welcome) 'Beaten Dog' that shows another side to the band's musical talent.

I have to admit, I got a massive kick out of this album and I know I'll be digging this out for years to come.
