Songs from the Pale Eclipse

Artist: The Warlocks
Label: Cleopatra Records
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 02 September 2016

The new album from psych-rock mainstays The Warlocks, Songs From The Pale Eclipse, is released on Cleopatra Records. Formed in America during 1999, The Warlocks produce a relentless, hypnotic wall of sound that suggests a collision between classic psychedelia, Krautrock and Velvet Underground style rock and roll...

Songs From The Pale Eclipse's varying moods and atmospheres range from the driving power of 'Shake the Dope Out' to the 14-minute, hallucinogenic opus 'Oh Shadie'. There's a diversity here that's hard not to admire.

The album opens with 'Only You' a haunting, murky rock track which beautifully showcase front man Bobby Hecksher's solemn, yet seductive, raspy voice. This is the perfect way to open the album and prepare the listener for what is to come.

The LP contains 10 songs (44 min, 43 sec) and if you're a fan of indie rock with a hint of psychedelia then you really should check this out.
