You are Rock Gunar, mercenary gun for hire with alien blood on his hands. Twitchy trigger fingers and focused battle tactics are the order of the day as you take on this ultimate survival mode challenge to wipe out every Alien on this ship! You will die - a lot - but sheer brute force plus cool ammo and weapon upgrades will help you take these vermin down, one wave at a time...

Review imageLet Them Come is a budget old school pixel sci-fi shooter. While it might not be much to look at, it's strangely addictive. The game play is straightforward enough. You man the ship's internal gun as wave after wave of deadly aliens attack you. You start with just one type of ammunition, one gun and one melee weapon (to take out any nasties that get too close) but as you progress through the levels you earn credits which allow you to open new and better weapons and ammunition; a second gun, grenades and special skills.

One of the most important things you're going to have to do at the start is ensure that your set up is correct. It's very important that you alter your TV's brightness settings as the game is incredibly dark, to the point that on occasion the odd beastie can slip past your defences.

Review imageIf any of the aliens come into contact with you they take away some of your energy. Too many attack you and it's "Game Over, Man!". But fear not, you merely pick up where you left off, just going back to the start of the last wave.

There's a number of different modes including Rampage (where you can compete on the online leader boards) and Boss (which are unlocked as you progress through the levels).

As a pick up and play mindless diversion, this will while away a few hours.
