MovieScore Media presents Cyrille Aufort’s score for Past Life, a thrilling investigation into the sins of the past. Written and directed by Avi Nesher, the film tracks the daring late 1970s odyssey of two sisters - an introverted classical musician and a rambunctious journalist as they unravel a shocking wartime mystery that has cast a dark shadow on their entire lives. Since one of the main characters is also a musician, the score includes not only traditional underscore, but also original, deliberately challenging pieces that were commissioned especially for the film...

There is such depth in Cyrille Aufort's music for Past Life that it will take you an age to unwrap the true beauty and finer points of the score. It opens with 'Past Life Theme', one that is both subtle and memorable, before opening up into a mixture of classical-based tracks.

The score contains 17 tracks (49 min, 18 sec) and in addition to Aufort's music, the album features new recordings of choral music conducted by Yishai Shtekler ('Hishki Hizki', composed by Abraham Caseres; 'Cantique de Jean Racine', composed by Gabriel Fauré) and two original compositions by contemporary composers Ella Milch-Sheriff ('The Time Will Come') and Avner Dorman ('The Concert').

This is an incredibly moving score which delivers some powerful dramatic, romantic and emotional themes.
