Lakeshore Records release the soundtrack to Birth of the Dragon, composed by H. Scott Salinas and Reza Safinia. Set against the backdrop of 1960s San Francisco, the movie is a modern take on the classic films that Bruce Lee was known for. It takes its inspiration from the epic and still controversial showdown between an up-and-coming Bruce Lee and Kung Fu master Wong Jack Man - a battle that gave birth to a legend...

An interesting score, my first impression of Birth of the Dragon, was how similar in style it was to Nathan Furst's music for Act of Valor.

The album contains 22 tracks (47 min, 13 sec) and it's one that you can instantly enjoy from the first play through. It's subtle and memorable and contains so many intricate themes that it's pretty much impossible to go through and pick out highlights.

There's a nice mix of cliched oriental sounds combined with a more modern approach - 'End Credits' is notable for it's rock anthem feel. There's certainly plenty to get your teeth into here.
