It's been four years since Deer Tick released their last album, Negativity (2013). So fans have long awaited there next album. Well, there's some good news and some even greater news. Firstly a new album is released... and secondly there's another album released too on the same date... Two album's? It's almost too good to be true. You can be forgiven for thinking that one of the albums will be packed full of rejected material from the first... but you'd be wrong! Very wrong. Titled Vol. 1 and Vol, 2, the two albums showcase two very different, but equally entertaining, facets to the band's talents as writers and performers. Vol. 1, the band describe as "quiet and thoughtful", while Vol. 2 is "loud and raucous". The two albums complement each other. Vol. 1 includes 10 songs (38 min, 13 sec) and represents such a diversity of styles, that it's hard to imagine how they could top this, or even offer something else that is still in the Deer Tick style on Vol. 2. Vol. 1 is folksy, while Vol. 2 is more indie rock. Both compliment each other and it's well worth picking up both. If I had to chose a preference, I'd have to say that Vol. 2 has slightly stronger, more memorable tracks. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
