Christophe Kittler, the enigmatic and solitary pop-electro artist, releases his new album, Lo, through Plaza Mayor Company Ltd. The album includes the singles 'One Love', 'Northerly Winds' and 'Brothers'. Born in 1965, Kittler began playing the keyboards at the age of 14. Over the years his musical inspiration has included the likes of The Beatles, Supertramp, Simon & Garfunkel as well as Jazz, Californian music and Donald Fagen (Steely Dan)... Christophe Kittler's music is instantly accessible, although if you want to get the most out of it - to appreciate the rich, multi-layered tracks - you'll need to invest a little time with it. First impressions are that it's an upbeat, rather out of time, electro pop album. But the more you listen to it the more you'll appreciate its finer points. This is a well produced, retro sounding album that has elements of the highlights of the '60s/'70s/'80s. I was reminded a little of Paul Carrack's style in the '80s. It's a good solid album, with some strong songs. If you're a fan of Kittler's you won't need any encouragement from me to get this, and if you're new to his world, it's worth checking this out to see if it's your thing. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
