Aniello Misto is a Neapolitan singer, composer and musician, who taught himself to play the bass as an eight year old on the streets of Herculaneum. Parthenope is his fifth studio album and deals with subjects as diverse as the detailed narration of the life of migrant refugees from their homeland to the nightlife of women of pleasure. It explores the folklore of Naples as well as dwelling on the history of fishermen and labourers...

Naples is a culturally rich and musically important municipality and Aniello Misto mines its impressive heritage with Parthenope, his fifth album. It consists of 10 tracks (36 min, 28 sec) ranging from the upbeat pop-based 'Mai' to 'N'ata Notte Ancora', which has roots in traditional Italian music.

While this won't be everyone's cup of tea, if you're looking to expand your library of World music albums, Misto is one you should add to your wish list. His love of the music shines through making this an in infectious release.
