Tank Girl hits an explosive climax (possibly literally), as co-creator Alan Martin and acclaimed artist Brett Parson conclude the debut story of her first ongoing series! The dark (maybe) and hilarious (definitely) secrets behind Booga’s origins, Tank Girl’s dying mother and that weird smell in the downstairs toilet are revealed at last! It’s a lawless world gone mad, where obscenity runs wild and nowhere seems safe… but enough about social media – let’s talk Tank Girl…!

The concluding episode of Action Alley starts off dark (definitely, not maybe), as the first half features a desperate and violent showdown, a face being ripped off, a grim abattoir, and not very many jokes. Then Barney receives some surprising and sobering news, which makes her say, “What the…?”

And that’s before we’ve even discovered the fate of Tank Girl’s adoptive mother, the reason why she sent that alarming text message to our heroine back in #1. Actually, this part of the story, towards the end of the issue, turns out to be a source of unexpected levity, which prompts Tank Girl to say, “What the actual…?” Brett Parson’s colour palette brightens up along the way, as night gives way to the breaking dawn.

This title is now an ongoing series, so don’t expect a nice, neat resolution at the end of the issue. Quite apart from the implications of the revelation made to Barney, all of Tank Girl’s team see the light in a cliffhanger that sets things up for the next story, Tank Girl Forever
