Daniel Ott, who holds degrees in composition from both the Curtis Institute of Music and the Juilliard School, releases his new album, Falling Pieces: Music for Two Pianos, via Navona Records... For lovers of piano music, Daniel Ott's Falling Pieces will be an album you'll instantly embrace. For general classical music followers, this is a release that requires your full attention and it's doubtful it's a collection of pieces that you'll find engaging straight away. While it has a traditional compositional base, it spirals off into avant-garde territory a little too often for my liking. Technically flawless... the question is, do you like your classical music to be experimental? Or are traditional form and structure where you get your buzz? If it's the former, then you'll find much to appreciate here. However, if it's the latter, then you might find this a little heavy going. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
