Tiña release their album, Positive Mental Health Music, via Speedy Wunderground. Lead singer/songwriter Joshua Loftin explains that he used the songs to “work through a mental breakdown” and the 11 track (39 min, 37 sec) LP provides an honest and intimate portrait into this process of self-examination, covering themes of anxiety, depression, love, sex, isolation, fear and failure... Positive Mental Health Music is an album born out of a bad place. Singer/songwriter Joshua Loftin used the album as therapy to work through a mental breakdown. Given the circumstances the album is impressively uplifting and positive in tone. The one possible sticking point will be Loftin's lead vocals. On occasion it sounded like a novelty record released by South Park's Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo... And, sadly, once you have that thought in your head it's hard to take the album seriously. It's a modestly engaging release, but not likely to be one you revisit in the future. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
