Milan Records releases the original soundtrack to Redeeming Love with music by Brian Tyler and Breton Vivian. Based on the bestselling novel by Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love is a powerful story of relentless love and perseverance as a young couple’s relationship clashes with the harsh realities of the California Gold Rush of 1850. It is a life-changing story of the power of unconditional and all-consuming love...

Discussing the music, Brian Tyler says: "Composing the score for Redeeming Love was truly one of the most moving experiences of my life. Incredibly directed by long-time collaborator DJ Caruso, the characters imbue such a sense of grace and love that I wanted to create music that could capture their spirit. I wanted to write music that evoked their raw emotion in all of its complexity. There is a sense of overcoming tragedy and ultimate redemption that needed to be delicately balanced musically. The thematic melodies of this score needed a voice. So I chose solo violin as the instrument to do this with and was lucky enough to have world-renowned violinist Gil Shaham as our soloist. He is truly one of the greatest violinists in history, a violinist whom I fell in love with from witnessing his solos on a broadcast live performance of Schindler's List conducted by John Williams years ago. His playing brings both the heartache and joy of the themes to life in ways that lift the soul and make the spirit take flight.

"Working again with the talented Breton Vivian, we were so fortunate to have such a wonderful set of musicians performing this score. The orchestra played beautifully as well, bringing a truly human element to the music. I will forever be grateful for this experience and hope that listeners will be taken on a journey that reflects the beauty of the story of Redeeming Love.”

Shaham's violin work, when backed by the orchestra, really works beautifully to add heart to the score. This is really noticeable on tracks like 'Providence'.

If, like me you enjoy life affirming, melancholic scores that draw an emotional response, then you're going to fall in love with Redeeming Love.
