Take on the role of Kipuna, a sharp-witted village girl, who becomes imbued with an ancient power that grants dominion over time and death. You must use your wits to control it as you're drawn into the midst of a war between the city of Kalevala and the armies of the Northlanders driven by their witch queen Lowhee. Your task is to master the power, in order to use it for mankind's protection, while your enemies will seek to harness it in the service of total destruction...

Engage in this tactical combat game with a time manipulation mechanic

Iron Danger is a tactical combat game with a unique time manipulation mechanic - a combination that blends the tactical depth of turn-based games with the action of real-time games.

This is a game that you'll instantly fall in love with if you like to explore every corner and tweak your playing style to experience as many quirky ways to dispatch your foes as possible. The ability to change up the playing style on the fly is one that I found to be original and helped me to fathom out new moves and actions much quicker, as I had time to practice them over and over again in order to master them. If things don't go quite to plan, you can rewind time and try a new strategy or combination of moves until you hit on the one that you're happy with... or you can just blast through the game, only rewinding time when you die.

There's a bit of a steep learning curve, but one that soon becomes intuitive as you progress. The opening stages act as a subtle training mode which, thanks to the unfolding story, never feels forced.

The city of Kalevala is located in the middle of this world

The game's environments constantly change, helping to keep you moving forward. This is a world of lofty fells, primeval forest, and placid lakes. The city of Kalevala, home of the humans who rebelled against the gods and forsook their protection, is located in the middle of this world, surrounded by towns, sea lanes and woodlands under its protection.

I really had a blast with Iron Danger. It's one I'll be playing for a long time to come and I'm sure I'll be revisiting Kalevala for quite some time. The ridiculously low RRP also makes this a game that is well worth snapping up.
