Maite Arroitajauregi's original score for Sobre Todo De Noche is released through Plaza Mayor Company Ltd. Exploring the issue of stolen children in Spain, the plot tracks Vera’s search for her biological son, who was given up for adoption, thereby coming across Cora and her adoptive son Egoz...

Maite Arroitajauregi's music for Sobre Todo De Noche is a strange mix of styles, but one that works wonders for the movie. One minute we have stabbing staccato segments butted up against beautiful choral moments. There's thumping electronic clubbing anthems next to eerie, unsettling moments. There's even, what sounds like, a toy harp on the track 'Muerte Jonda'. The album concludes with the hauntingly beautiful solo piano theme 'Piano Final'.

Very briefly, with the opening bars of 'Boalano' I was reminded of Mark Knopfler's score for Last Exit to Brooklyn. And, woven through out this soundtrack are elements of Bernard Herrmann´s work on film noir.

While it's not an album I'll return to all that often. I did enjoy my time with Sobre Todo De Noche. It's richly layered and has such a wide selection of themes, that it's hard not to be drawn into it.
