Mighty Mage is a top-down arena shooter rogue-lite where you play as a cute mage on a journey to become a master magician.

The gameplay is simple with each wave of enemies you'll need to shoot and dash in order to complete the level without dying.

As you progress through the game, you'll choose from a variety of upgrades to buff your stats or restore your health, as well as learn new magic to become a better mage.

It's a retro game which, sadly, didn't hold my attention for very long - despite being a child of the '80s. It was fun for a while... but that "while" didn't last for more than an hour. It's the sort of game you can dip in and out of, but there's still not a whole lot of replayability in the long term.

For fans of retro games this might be worth a look. And at the cheap price point you won't feel too cheated if you wind up only playing it for just a lazy afternoon.
