Take on the role of "The Foreigner", an enigmatic character who must ascend through the levels of the underground to reveal the mystery hidden on the surface. To help you in your quest are domestic robots, that still work as assistants for the remaining inhabitants of the underground. The adventure begins in an abandoned village in an underground environment, where you discover your ability to reactivate the mechanical elements to protect the village from the enemies. Explore the dark environment outside the village to get new items that will allow him to empower the features of the village, improving weapons and defences against the enemies that attack every "night"...

It's a challenging and interesting spin on a tried and tested format

S.O.L: Search of Light a steampunk dark fantasy adventure. It is a game with great potential... However, there is a game breaking bug that make it almost unplayable.

On more than a handful of occasions, when the game loaded from one segment to the next, I was met with a dark screen, with no way to get back into the gameplay. On resetting the game I was met by the fact that no gameplay had been saved, which meant I had to start all over again. Once, could be an excusable, if annoying error. But for this to happen at different times and places on several plays meant that I just couldn't progress.

You're quest involves you saving your "base" from enemies. The way to achieve this is to set up strong defences. With the game's precious commodity currency, you can activate weapons, defences and helpful robots. Of course, your world has a very scarce supply of this currency and so you'll need to jump through black holes in order to find more and return to your own world to prepare your defences.

It's a challenging and interesting spin on a tried and tested format. I really wanted to be able to give this a good review, but the game breaking bug meant the game was not playable. Hopefully the developers are aware and are patching the game. But two weeks after launch and the issue is still there.
