There was once an ancient line of action figures, which created a magical power source that would allow humans to keep their favourite childhood memories of their toys. This ancient power source is known as the Hypercore. Inside the Hypercore are the beloved memories of our favourite toys. If Major Evil destroys it, these memories will disappear forever. Defend it with everything you've got, or see our cherished toys turn into lost treasures of the past. Help Sgt. Max Ammo to defeat Major Evil and save the hypercore...

Hypercharge: Unboxed is a first and third-person wave-based shooter

Hypercharge: Unboxed is a first and third-person wave-based shooter action figure game. Obvious parallels will be drawn with the movie Toy Soldiers... and that's no bad thing. This is the sort of game a much younger me would have been over the moon to play. And, whilst it's still a huge blast playing this as an adult, I pity the younger me having to wait years for something like this to finally be released.

You play as one of the good guys as you defend the hypercore from wave of invading enemies. Break out of your packaging and explore the battlefield (lovingly detailed domestic household rooms or toy shop aisles). Part of the fun of this game is exploring each battlefield, not only to marvel in the detail, but also to find hidden extras.

While this is best played with friends, or online with strangers in co-op mode, you can also play offline in solo mode. Your A.I. "friends" are pretty good and you'll almost believe you're playing against other real players. As you progress, you can unlock new action figures, skins and new toy packaging.

While the main campaign is a wave based shooter experience, you can engage in player Vs player modes as you go head-to-head against other action figures as you fight to become top of the scoreboard. There are also a number of classic PvP modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Battery, Infection, and King of the Hill.

This is an impressive game that adds something a little different to a tried and trusted formula.
