Meet Jack Foley, the most successful bank robber in the country. On the day he busts out of jail, he finds himself stealing something far more precious than money. Karen Sisco’s heart. She’s smart. She’s sexy, and unfortunately for Jack, she’s a Federal Marshal. Now, they’re willing to risk it all to find out if there is more between them than just the law... For me, this movie hasn't aged all that well. There have been a number of real life cases since this movie was released where law enforcement officers have fallen for criminals... and the stories always sound needy and rather pathetic. To a modern audience, George Clooney's Jack Foley may feel a little too creepy and Jennifer Lopez's Karen Sisco, a little too naive and immature. Thankfully, as the audio commentary reveals, they didn't go for the book's original narrative, a textbook Hollywood cliche, which placed Foley in his 50s, with Sisco much younger. Whilst the plot and acting were well above average, it just felt a little tired and dated 27 years after its original release. It wasn't overly well received on its original release, so I'm not sure who, other than Clooney and Lopez fans, would want to add this film to their collection. The Blu-ray includes a bonus double-sided fold-out poster of all new artwork created by Rich Davies. Extras on the disc include an audio commentary with director Steven Soderbergh and Screenwriter Scott Frank; and Deleted Scenes (22.14). The press release indicates that there's a Behind the Scenes documentary. But it wasn't included on the disc we received. Likewise, the bonus poster was nowhere to be seen. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
