As a victim of a kidnapping, your captor/s underestimated your resourcefulness. Somewhere, in the building you're being held in, is an office. And somewhere, within that office is a gun. If you can get to it then you can finally free yourself. You have to slowly work your way through the rooms, covering your tracks, as you get ever closer to the gun... and your freedom...
There's a Gun in the Office is a low budged first person puzzle game that sees you having to work your way through a building in hopes of finding a gun that will allow you to escape. You start of in a sparse room and have to find the key to get out and explore further a field. This is pretty much what most of the game entails. You must ensure that you leave everything where you found it by the end of each day, and return to your room, or the kidnappers will discover what you are up to. It's not an overly user friendly game. The controls are a little fiddly and unintuitive when compared to similar game in the genre. It also feels a little as though you're just going through the motions of having to find ways of opening door after door. Add to this the fact that you are extremely hungry and will quickly die if you don't eat... and the whole game becomes a little frustrating. On the first play through I found food, but couldn't fathom how I was supposed to eat it.
That little quirk aside, I soon started to discover that the rewards where just not worth the hard slog of playing. I suppose the developers were aiming to bring about fear and suspense in the player whilst moving around the rooms, but for me it just brought a little boredom. It's cheap enough to warrant picking up if you're a fan of these sort of games, but it just didn't appeal to me at all. 4 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
