The original soundtrack for the live-action Disney movie Lilo & Stitch is released via Walt Disney Records. The soundtrack is comprised of three newly recorded songs, including 'He Lei Pāpahi No Lilo a me Stitch' performed by Hawaiian vocalist and Kumu Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu, and 'Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride' performed by American Idol winner Iam Tongi, both of which are joined by the enchanting Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus. The Elvis Presley classic 'Burning Love' is performed by Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm, two young musicians born and raised on the North Shore of Oʻahu. The soundtrack is rounded out by a score from composer Dan Romer...

Dan Romer's original score for Lilo & Stitch is exactly as you'd expect, with the music flitting from space-esque suspense (with a hint of theremin) to Hawaiian instrumentation and vocals. There's action and adventure ('Experiment'), fun, comedic adventure themes (I'm Already in My Room') and plenty of emotionally rewarding, melancholic themes ('Send Me an Angel', 'This is Reality', 'Good Parents', 'The Empty Chair', 'Nobody Gets Left Behind'). There are also plenty of action adventure themes that are woven throughout.

Discussing the score, Romer says: "It was incredibly important to the director Dean [Dean Fleischer Camp] and me to make a score that could move between sci-fi and Hawaiian instrumentation but still give the characters their own unique sounds. Lilo and Nani’s emotional moments are scored with distant voices, Stitch’s chaos is highlighted by psychotic wooden flutes, and the weird boops and beeps for the aliens are made from a recording of me blowing over a plastic bottle, manipulated and processed in every way I could think of. It was such a blast going back and forth with Dean across these palettes, sometimes looking for the weirdest combinations of sounds, and sometimes looking for the most heartfelt."

It's a richly rewarding score which fans of the movie will instantly fall in love with.

Unfortunately we didn't receive the three songs on the album, just Romer's incredibly powerful score, so we are unable to comment on those.
