Orbital’s seminal second album, commonly known as The Brown Album, receives a re-issue via London Records. Released with 23 additional tracks - rarities and previously unreleased material from The Brown Album period - the 4x disc reissue also features a guest appearance from legendary actor Tilda Swinton, on a brand new working of the 1989 track 'Deeper'. Released in 1993, The Brown Album defied expectations, had a significant genre and cultural impact, and was met with widespread critical acclaim upon release. Showcasing the duo's scope and ambition, it contains classic tracks like 'Halcyon + On + On', 'Satan', 'Lush', and 'Impact', which remain certified classics and live set staples to this day. Pressed on vinyl for the first time in over a decade, The Brown Album reissue is also available on cassette, CD and digital... Back in the '90s, as a student, I discovered Orbital. They were a band that I followed with my subsequent move to London. Relistening to The Brown Album all these years later brought back a wave of nostalgia, and if I'm being honest, it feels a lot fresher than I was expecting it to be. It feels timeless, with is remarkable considering that most electronic music albums tend to age rather quickly. Of course, if you bought this in the '90s you'll no doubt still own your copy. However, the selling point here is that there are a tempting collection of additional tracks that you may not have heard before - including live recordings, remixes and tracks that were recorded around the same period of this album's original release. Overall there are 32 tracks here (3 hrs, 48 min, 33 sec) and it represents the perfect release for those who grew up on the original. It's chilled out and timeless. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
