Ebola Village is a first-person game that sees you having to explore your surroundings as you try to piece together the mystery of why people are suddenly acting like homicidal maniacs. You start in your rundown apartment, a building which has recently been condemned as unfit for habitation, and is due to be demolished. Your first quest is to explore your flat and find several items that will allow you to leave your building and travel to your mother's village. Once you manage to exit your building, you drive to your mother's village. It is here that you start to discover that things aren't quite what they seem. The locals seem to be intent on attacking you, and it's only after doing a little digging around that you start to uncover what is going on. The game reminded me very much of the early Resident Evil games. The collecting of different coloured potted plants certainly brought this to mind, but also the whole biological warfare plague draws heavily on similar themes. The world is populated with bleak, depressingly rundown environments, which help to add to the overall dark and menacing atmosphere. For those that love this style of first-person adventure, there is plenty to sink your teeth into. 6 Nick Smithson
