Welcome to a World after the machines came. On Lana and Mui’s home planet, new technology brings progress but also stirs greed and imbalance. As different tribes adopt it in their own ways, tensions grow and the world’s harmony begins to shift. When those seeking power push too far, Lana and her little companion are pulled into a journey that reveals long-buried truths about their planet and about themselves...
For those that played and loved Planet of Lana, the second game in the series delivers exactly what you'd hope for in a sequel. The mechanics are similar and the art style lets you know that you're back in Lana and Mui's world once again. The music, for the most part, is recycled from the first game, which helps to keep the spirit of the original alive but I was hoping for a new score - I've played the original soundtrack more times than I care to remember. And whilst I love the music I was hoping for a new score to fall in love with. You'll journey across frozen peaks, deep oceans, and forgotten ruins in this hand-painted world where nature meets technology. The game is a cinematic puzzle adventure where you are left to use your imagination as to the game's narrative, as the characters use an alien language with no subtitles. This means that every gamer will have a very different gaming experience. Some of the puzzles can be extremely challenging, as you can use your powers to control some of the other creatures in the environments. And working out how best to use these is one of the game's biggest challenges. It's a fun, if somewhat short game. Determined players should easily complete this in under 8 hours. But the emotional bond players will have with the game make for a very sweet experience. 9 Darren Rea
