Darts VR2: Bullseye aims to bring the fun and competitiveness of darts to VR. The jury is still out on whether they've managed to do so.

We received the review code a few weeks before launch and I have to admit I wasn't impressed with the mechanics. I played darts a lot in my youth, yet I found it almost impossible to get my head around the aiming. On the 501 level I was constantly left having to finish the game on a double one. However, on playing the game on launch day, it appears that the developers have patched a lot of the issues. I found aiming more intuitive and I managed to hit doubles and trebles with a little more accuracy.

Likewise, with the Zombie Hunting game, I originally found it almost impossible to kill more than a couple of zombies before I was overwhelmed. Whilst the developers appear to have fixed this, it's still incredibly hard to get very far. But I suppose, as you get used to the game's mechanics, this is an issue that should resolve itself over time.

At launch there were barely any players online. I ranked quite high in all of the leaderboards (despite being pretty poor) and I found it hard to find any online players.

Survive wave after wave of undead attacks

The following game modes are available: 501 - Play a standard round; Around the World - Hit each number in sequence; Killstreak - You need to be laser-focused to hit a wild streak; Zombies - Survive wave after wave of undead attacks; Solo & Online - Enjoy both single-player and multiplayer modes. You can also select new dart liveries, hats, sunglasses and gloves.

The main problem is that darts just isn't an overly fun activity to play in VR. While it's fine for a few minutes, there just isn't enough variety of activities to keep you coming back for more. If the developers can overcome the rather poor dart mechanics then this may provide a welcome distraction for a very short while.
