Meet Lenore the cute little dead girl, and enter her weird, surreal world of cursed vampire dolls, crazed clock monsters, stuffed friends, limbless cannibals and an obsessed would-be lover. All this, plus more fuzzy animal mutilations than you can poke a stick at...

Noogies introduces the world's cutest little dead girl, Lenore. The best way of describing this collection is to imagine the late Roald Dahl teaming up again with Quentin Blake and writing stories for a slightly more mature market than his children's books.

Lenore is dead and her world is slightly warped because of this. She also has a boyfriend, of sorts. Mr. Gosh just doesn't get the fact that Lenore is just not interested in him. Every time she thinks she's killed him he finds another way to come back and attempt to woo her.

There was one story in here that made me laugh out loud... but I don't know why. The Grandiose Adventures of "Timmy" the Happy Friendly Seeing Impaired Mouse just kind of caught me off guard and I ended up laughing to myself for ages afterwards.

To be honest though, there isn't a bad tale here. Other stand out tales include Lenore's Scientific Don't Even Question it Facts, which examines the world's most sadistic toys; The 'Lil Ballerina, in which Lenore practices her ballet moves at an inappropriate moment; The Boy With His Heart in a Box, which is the most Roald Dahl like of tales and revolves around a boy who's heart is kept under lock and key by his grandfather; Leap Froggie, which warns of the dangers when choosing a spot to play you favourite game; and Magic Muffin, which sees a magic fairy arrive on earth for a magical day of wonderment.

Part of the charm of this collection is the fact that the tiniest little thing will set you off chuckling to yourself... and it's at that point that you realise what a sick puppy you really are. Everyone should get to know this little dead girl.
