As a crisis looms which threatens to destroy the universe,
the line between life and death is crossed as the Teen Titans'
deceased members return. Troia arrives to recruit the mightiest
members of the team to battle in the Infinite Crisis as Robin
is confronted by his predecessor, the bygone Boy Wonder, Jason
Todd. The remaining Titans face the onslaught of Brother Blood
and the "New Titans West," which includes the corpses
of Aquagirl, Omen, Hawk and Dove...
In
Life and Death, the crisis hits home. Superboy and
all of the Teen Titans Reserve members team up to battle his
counterpart from another dimension. In the Titans' bloodiest
battle ever, lives are lost, sprits are broken and the team
is forever changed.
Old
heroes are cruelly brought back to life to aid in the destruction
of the Teen Titans and everything that they have fought to
protect. Just how much are the Teen Titans willing to sacrifice
in order to set things straight? For some the price will be
too high.
This
collection gathers together stories from #29-33 of Teen
Titans, Teen Titans: Annual 1, #146-147 of Robin,
and #5-6 of Infinite Crisis. The end result is a collection
that is certainly greater than the sum of its parts.
For
those that like their superhero tales to contain more that
a few surprises, Life and Death will knock you for
six. A Teen Titan collection that is so intelligently
conceived, so "grown up" in it's outlook, that I'm
surprised that it hasn't been showered with awards.
