Oliver Queen is only a man - with none of the fantastic abilities
of his fellow superheroes. Yet time and again, using his skill

In
Heading into the Light, two of Green Arrow's greatest
foes, the newly empowered Dr. Light and the embittered dark
archer Merlyn, enact a plan to attack Green Arrow's home and
those he loves most - his son, Connor and his Ward, Mia. But
the plan soon threatens the people of Star City as well, and
Oliver Queen faces his greatest challenge - only to learn
the bitter lesson that even a symbol can fail.
Hands
up all those that thought that the Green Arrow was one of
the DC Universe's most stupid superheroes. I have to admit
that a few years ago I would have been reaching for the sky
too. Come on, any villain who hasn't worked out that Oliver
Queen (with his ridiculously obvious blond goatee and moustache
is... shock horror... in fact the Green Arrow) obviously needs
to go back to super villain school. So when Queen and his
family are surprised to learn that someone (gosh) has worked
out where Green Arrow lives and who he really is I couldn't
help but smile to myself.
Dr.
Light is understandably still a little peeved that his memories
were wiped to hide the JLA's secret identities, but is that
the reason why he's trying to destroy Queen and his family?
As Queen and his team digs deeper they soon discover that
there is a more disturbing reason behind Dr. Light's mission.
This
collection rattles along at a good pace - hardly giving you
time to get your bearings. And it's not until half way through
this collection that things take a nasty turn, as Dr. Light
attacks Mia at her school.
The
writing is well above the normal standard, as is the art work.
I can't recommend this collection enough. Green Arrow
fans should have this in their collection, as should any one
who wants to read one hell of a great yarn. And if you are
not screaming out for more at this tale's conclusion (??!!??)
then you really should stop reading comics and go and check
yourself into a lunatic asylum.
