Several fight schools are in conflict with each other. Fights between the schools student are regular and bloody, as they compete to be the best. One girl seems fated to reunite the schools as they had been in the past. Guided by special jewels, the lives and fates of the students seem to mirror the lives of the stones original owners, but will their fate be the same...

Battle Vixens (Ikki Tousen) is a show with only two reasons to exist, breasts and panties. Stripped of its mystical mumbo-jumbo the show is really about showing young girls fighting whilst showing as much panties and cleavage.

There's not much point in going into the various episodes as they are pretty much the same. Some poor excuse for a fight comes about and suddenly the girl's clothes start falling off.

To balance the three episode disc, the extras are top notch. There's a nice interview with the director, Takashi Watanabe, who has the good graces not to pretend that his show is anything other than young male titillation, at least he was honest. The shots of a group of Japanese men all taking photos of some poor schoolgirls panties, in the name of research, is a bit weird. You also get a clean ending sequence and an art gallery. The funniest thing on the extras is the outtakes, where the shows English vocal actors get to be even rudder than the original show.

Audio is stereo Japanese or English with subtitles and the visuals are clean and bright.

So, if an action show with lots of cleavage and panties is your gig then your gonna be in pig heaven with this one. For the average viewer though, the shows reliance of fights and panties can become somewhat repetitious.
