Wayward daughters, missing husbands, philandering partners, curious con men - If you've got a problem, and no one else can help you, then pay a visit to Precious Ramotswe, Botswana's only - and finest - female private detective, and her assistant, Mma Makutsi. Her methods may not be conventional, and her manner not exactly Miss Marple, but she's got warmth, wit and canny intuition on her side, not to mention Mr J.L.B. Matekoni, the charming proprietor of Tlokweng Road Speedy Motors. And Precious is going to need them all as she sets out on a series of cases that tumbles our heroine into a hotbed of strange situations and more than a little danger...

Warm, humorous and uplifting, Alexander McCall Smith's hugely popular novels featuring Precious Ramotswe, proprietor of Botswana's only female private detective agency, have become international best-sellers, sold over seven million copies, and been translated into 26 languages. These acclaimed productions bring the exotic world of the books vividly to life.

Volume 6 in this collection includes the episodes The Return of Note and The Ceremony.

The Return of Note finds Mma Ramotswe in a compromising situation when her past catches up with her. But things are looking brighter for her assistant, Mma Makutsi, when she takes up ballroom dancing.

The day does not start well for Mma Ramotswe. While shopping she spots a thief, but on trying to apprehend him Mma Ramotswe is herself accused of attempting of committing a crime. And when a ghost from her past turns up on her doorstep, Mma Ramotswe doesn't know what to do for the best.

The Ceremony sees Mma Ramotswe's agency work under control at last, so she has time to take care of her own problems. Can she release her fiancé Mr J.L.B Matekoni from his rash undertaking to do a charity parachute jump? And will the return of an old love jeopardise her plan to spring romantic surprise on her husband-to-be? Meanwhile, It looks like Mma Makutsi is starting to fall for the clumsy man she has been partnered with in her ballroom dancing class.

Some of this episodes funniest scenes come from exchanges between Mma Makutsi and Mma Ramotswe. Mma Makutsi is worried that Mma Ramotswe may agree to free Mr J.L.B. Matekoni from his parachute jump by doing it herself. Mma Makutsi is concerned that the parachute may not be sufficient as Mma Ramotswe is a "traditionally built woman", until Mma Ramotswe points out she has seen trucks dropped by parachute. But that's beside the point as Mma Ramotswe is not about to jump out of a plane to save her fiancé.

Another entertaining collection of stories that will keep fans glued to their CD players.
