When the warring alien races crash into small-town America to continue their battle, the unsuspecting residents find themselves caught in the deadly crossfire and must band together in order to survive. Now fans of the movie Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem can go behind the scenes and see how the film's monster effects were created...

Inside the Monster Shop offers a behind-the-scenes look at the movie Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem. Special effects supervisors Tom Woodruff, Jr. and Alec Gillis, veterans of the first AVP and the Alien sequels, open the doors of Amalgamated Dynamics Inc (ADI) to reveal the secrets of the movie's effects.

Anyone who bought the previous book by the authors, AVP: The Creature Effects of ADI, will have a pretty good idea of what's in store with this look at the monsters from the latest AVP movie.

This volume allows the reader to follow ADI's talented crew in-studio and on location through conception to fabrication and finishing. This picture heavy book also allows fans of the movie to get up close and personal with the monsters from the movie. Not only do you get the opportunity to see the creatures in various states of preparation, but you also get the chance to view production drawings, and prototypes of the Predator's weaponry.

With 130 (roughly A4) pages, the authors have crammed just about as much information and visual references as any fan could wish for. Not only that, but they've hired a designer who has given careful consideration to the best way to show off all of the images to make each page come alive with action. There's no random placing of images, everything has carefully been thought through.

Anyone who is an Alien/Predator fan, as well as anyone who is interested in how movie creatures are created, should pick up this interesting and beautifully produced book.
