Sheriff Moses Stone has a good life in Bollas Ratoon: a good job, a loving wife, and a reputation that helps him keep the peace. Once a legendary bounty hunter, "Holy" Moses doesn't chase bad men across the wilderness anymore. At least, not until the outlaw El Diablo pays a harrowing visit to his town... After a horriffic attack on the sleepy town of Bollas Ratoon - in which the mysterious outlaw El Diablo slaughters plenty of innocent men and appears to leave the sheriff for dead - the sheriff and his posse track the shadowy fugitive through the high desert to Halo, New Mexico. But even a $10,000 reward can't explain Moses Stone's zeal to bring down this particular lawbreaker. Something more has drawn him to the little town of Halo - a secret that won't die, no matter how much blood is spilled. El Diablo has unearthed the skeletons in Stone's closet. Is El Diablo a man on a mission, or is he a spirit of atonement avenging the ghosts of the past? El Diablo collects the Western-based miniseries by Eisner Award-winning writer Brian Azzarello. This is an interesting collection in that the basic premise and twist in the tale is so simple, yet the execution is faultless. The only slight problem I had was that in a few of Danjel Zezelj's panels it was a little confusing as to what was actually going on. This is a Western tale with a difference and will certainly appeal to those that don't usually care for Westerns. This will keep you guessing until the end. Wonderful stuff. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
