Batman, The Joker, Nightwing, The Doom Patrol. Ordinarily they're some of DC's best-known heroes and villains. But in the Tangent Universe, they're like nothing you've ever seen. This Batman is a true Dark Knight, doomed to live forever to atone for terrible sins. This Joker is no crazed murderer - she's a chaotic do-gooder with a killer sense of humour. This Nightwing isn't even human; it's the world's most dangerous covert organisation, with a rebel faction using mysterious magic to take it down from within... Volume 2 of Tangent Comics continues in the same vein as Volume 1. Welcome to a very different world, where a nuclear-powered hero's debut ushered in an age of hi-tech invention, an atomic conflagration destroyed both Cuba and Florida; and the covert organization Nightwing has eyes and ears in every home... This collection opens with a twisted take on The Joker - a mischievous female with plenty of gags up her sleeve isn't a law breaker - as such. And while she can't getting under the skin of the law, she does more good than harm. This is followed by a Wildcat tale (a mysterious female who can be transformed into a bloodthirsty beast). But, of all the tales in this collection, my favourite had to be the Batman story. It's got everything you'd expect from a Batman tale (even if everything is way off on a tangent) but the ending is one of the more touching. This is an essential purchase for all superhero fans - another slice of hero action that will make you smile. 9 Pete Boomer Buy this item online |
